In the employment service, in online courses, remotely in the university, and even in Instagram
Parents are the most professionally vulnerable category of employees. Not only do most of them suffer from sleep deprivation and have to spend time on sick leave more often than their childless colleagues, but they also have to overcome one of the most difficult obstacles in their career path – maternity leave.
Let’s be honest, in our country maternity leave in most cases tests the strength of women. And they are the ones who suffer all of its consequences, including reduced competitiveness and a “maternity penalty.”
Fearful of these threats of maternity, women often try not only to work until the last weeks of pregnancy, but also to return to their professional duties as soon as possible after giving birth. Those who are lucky with their profession and superiors work remotely while on maternity leave. Those for whom maternity was a revelation and helped them rethink their views on career, start their own (often family) business, which usually grows out of a hobby: home baking, knitting, jewelry and handmade toys, decorative and interior items to order. Others have to rely only on invaluable professional experience gained before maternity leave, as well as on additional education and advanced training, which can be done even while on maternity leave.
